Summer at the Lake – A young author is becoming restless under the weighty love of his overbearing and manipulative mother. While swimming in the lake he finally decides to become the hero of his own life.
Suddenly Last Summer – set in 1936, in the Garden District of New Orleans. An elderly widow from a prominent local family talks nostalgically about her son, a poet who died under mysterious circumstances in Spain the previous summer. A harrowing exploration of a mother’s attempt to protect her son’s reputation. Written in 1958, this play tackles issues of mental instability, and the stigma of homosexuality.
