Musical Theatre Audition Workshop
Audition Workout Saturday March 4th 3pm-5pm
Are you ready for your next musical theatre audition? Getting your pieces up and out can make all the difference! This workshop is designed to help you work out and fine tune your next (or first) audition. Participants are invited to bring 16 bars of sheet music and/or a 1-2 minute monologue. You will get one on one coaching and answers to questions you may have about the auditioning process. Class will start with a short open forum and move into on your feet work. Get confident and stay sharp!
Facilitators: Jamie Bauer and Lincoln Wright
Lincoln Wright, a Mesa, Arizona native, has a busy schedule as a music director and accompanist around the Valley. He has music directed several productions at Hale Theatre, Mesa Encore Theatre, and Southwest Shakespeare, most recently West Side Story, Mary Poppins, and Seven Brides at Hale. He is currently the music director/bandleader for The Marvelous Wonderettes at Hale. He is a three-time AriZoni recipient for music direction and for composition. He has been a pianist for Ballet Arizona since 2004 and at Ballet Etudes since 1993. When not performing, he is an attorney with the Udall Shumway law firm, handling elder abuse and neglect cases.
Jamie Bauer is the director of education for MET. She is also a teaching artist and director for Studio 3 Performing Arts Accademy and co-teaches Southwest Shakespeare Company’s summer teen conservatory. Her work with S3 has received several AYT and Zoni nominations. Most recent stage credits include Southwest Shakespeare Company: Merry Wives of Windsor and Twelfth Night, Stray Cat Theatre: Native Son. She holds a BA in Theatre from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
